Summary of Module 1

Module 1 is the foundation module of DroneAware. It is aimed primarily at security and site security personnel, facility management and security officers in companies and critical infrastructure operations, and it assumes no prior knowledge. 

The key take-aways: the threat is real and readily available, the device is trivial to obtain, the state does not provide blanket protection and private parties may not counter a drone themselves. What remains is detecting, documenting and reporting. And the most reliable sensor for that is a prepared human being.

From knowing to doing.

Module 1 conveys the basics. The advanced modules lead from detecting to acting, from the individual to the organisation. Each module can be booked separately and follows the same structure of four lessons with a fixed share of practice and simulation.

ThroughoutPractice and simulation as the common thread

Simulation is not a module of its own, it is the core of every module. The share of practice increases step by step: from the short hands-on drill through the tabletop exercise to the full command post exercise. In doing so, simulation always follows the decision cycle situation assessment → decision → action and thereby deliberately differs from simply ticking off a checklist.
